Activities and Opportunities
-
By serving in the McIntosh community, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine, lasting impact on the lives of others. Nestled in rural Alabama, this community includes the MOWA Choctaw People, rich in culture and heritage. Through partnerships with local churches and organizations, you'll help meet real needs in practical ways, from home repairs to children's outreach. Come with a heart open to connection, and you’ll build meaningful relationships that reflect God’s love in action.

Your team will engage in hands-on projects tailored to your group’s size, skill level, and age. Projects typically involve light construction work, such as:
Home and trailer repairs (porches, roofs, floors)
Painting, cleaning, and landscaping
Community beautification
Teams may serve local families directly or support the needs of area churches. Construction skills are appreciated but not required—what matters most is your willingness to work hard and serve joyfully. Given the rural nature of McIntosh, expect to drive 30-45 minutes to work sites and the church, with scenic views along the way.
-
Relational ministry is at the heart of our work. Whether at a job site or in the community, your presence can encourage and uplift those you serve. Opportunities might include:
Visiting and encouraging the elderly
Leading devotionals at rehab centers
Gardening projects
Door-to-door evangelism and prayer
Each interaction is a chance to demonstrate God’s love and build connections that leave a lasting spiritual impact.
-
For many, the highlight of the week is leading our 4-day Sports Camp for children and teens (ages 3-17). This growing ministry combines shared activities with faith-centered leadership, making a difference in young lives through fun and connection.
